RL5- Structure & It's Effect
¨To Kill a Mockingbird¨
The whole story is written in chronological order, but it is told in a flashback. This enhances the story by making the story more credible. This is because when the story happened Scout was very young so she might not have understood exactly was all was happening, but since the story is told when she is older she can understand and explain things that the younger version of Scout couldn't explain. The pacing of the story is told over a two year period. It starts when Scout is about 5 years old, and about to enter first grade. Then the book end when Scout it almost seven years old and about to go into 3rd grade.
